Position Purpose: This position will join a dynamic engineering team, work with an industry leader and be expected to sustain a high performing customer-centric environment. This position will contribute to designing and manufacturing high quality, high efficiency cartoners, case packers, pouch packaging systems, and robotics integration. Our products are used worldwide in most major industries including Food, Pharma, Confections, Cosmetic, Beverage and many others. As an Applications Engineer you will use your technical skills to identify and provide dependable solutions for our diverse customer base. The Applications Engineer is the first line of support for our product line and is responsible for providing complete customer satisfaction regarding the use and implementation of our superior packaging solutions.

Principle Accountabilities

• Utilize sound engineering principles to plan, conceptualize and design new products or modify existing ones from information provided by customer request/feedback, sales/sales engineers, manufacturing personnel or service team under supervision of Senior Engineers or Engineering Manager.
• Pre-sale and post-sale technical support
• Collaborate with development team to drive core product growth
• Develop custom solutions for customers and industry partners
• Create and present technical training curriculums
• Test and evaluate existing as well as new technologies on equipment and software performance and reliability.
• Assist in the coordination of any new projects by utilizing your full potential.
• Assist staff in any technical issues which may require attention.
• Assist in the coordination of design and manufacture of customs tooling for placement equipment.
• Travel to customer and industry partner facilities to execute projects and conduct advanced technical training sessions
• Cultivate an array of business relationships within the manufacturing sector
• Support applications by providing automation concepts and concept drawings in preparation of estimates and quotes.
• Stay current in new developments within industries served. Keeps informed of new applications and methods to improve systems or products.
• Travels up to 30%
• Related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of documented engineering experience, automated packaging experience preferred.
• Experience in robotics programming not required but must be willing to learn.
• Creative mindset with attention to detail of process, product, and material design
• Strong AutoCAD/AutoDesk and SolidWorks proficiency required.
• Strong understanding of automation electronics
• Familiar with the following manufacturing technologies: Machining, Forming, Welding, Heat Treatment
• Experience designing Cartoners, Case Packers, Pouch Machines, Palletizers, and Robotics.
• Willingness to bring a team together and accomplish project goals effectively.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative - general focus on pleasing the customer.
• Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies and ability to learn new technologies.
